2011 Kids Folkstyle State Results
The 2012 WWF Kids Folkstyle State Tournament will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 23rd and 24th at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. It is located on the Southeast side of Madison on Rimrock Rd, just north of the belt line, Hwys 12 & 18. The host club is the Stoughton Wrestling Club. Please see below for the Time Schedule of Events for the Kids State Folkstyle Tournament.
In the Boys and Girls Divisions wrestlers must qualify one the eight regional tournaments held on Saturday March 10th. The top 2 place finishers from each age and weight group from each regional qualify. We again are going to call 3rd place finishers to fill in empty spots. A system is set up so we rotate through the regional to see which 3rd place finishers gets asked.
New for 2012
A USA Wrestling Coaches Card is Required to Coach Competitors on the Floor this Year at the Kids Folkstyle State Tournament
They must be purchased ahead of time online because a background check is performed so please plan ahead. They will not be available on-site. Please see letter attached above for instructions in how to purchase one.
There will be Free Admission into the Alliant Center for anyone that has a current USAW Coaches card. There will be a special entrance for them, please look for signs for the correct door to enter.
Since there is a separate Girl’s Division no girls can wrestle in the Boy’s Divisions only in the Girls Division.
WIAA Rules will apply in the Folkstyle State Tournament and Regionals, except the time periods are one minute long except at the state tournament Boys Born in1997-98 will wrestle 1-1/2 minute periods. There is also 15 minutes rest in between matches as in USAW instead of the 45 minutes given in WIAA.
Programs and Bracket Sheets for each age and weight group will be available to buy during weigh-ins and during the tournament.
Brackets will not be shown to the public until weigh-ins start.
