Reports To:
Wisconsin Wrestling Federation Chairman

Role/Responsibilities:
This position is ultimate responsibility is to coordinate all coaching initiatives of the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation. This position is more administrative than actual clinician, or coaching. It is a part time position, as far as a time demand, but it will be expected that you are readily available as needed, on a reasonable basis.

The “State Coaching Coordinator” will be responsible for the planning and coordinating for all major coaching events. You’ll be expected to have strong organization/planning skills; coordinating with the WWF Chairmen, Age level directors, WWF coaching staffs, plan team agendas, including bus schedule, and hotel, the team coaching staff and the selection of wrestlers.

These events include, but not limited to

  • The Spring Freestyle/Greco Regional Training Centers.
  • The Wisconsin National Team Duals.
  • The Junior & Cadet National Championships

This position is also expected to lead and coordinate initiatives that improve the knowledge, skills and quality of Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Folkstyle wrestling for both wrestlers and coaches.  They will be expected to create a yearly plan of goals and actions, within their given budget, of initiatives to improve Wisconsin wrestling at all age levels.


Other initiatives will include:

  • Lead initiatives to improve wrestling technique by planning clinics and training sites.
  • You will be expected to lead initiatives to improve our state’s club coaches, keeping them informed of coaching information and technique.
  • Responsibility for the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation website “Coaching” content. Coordinating our Web site director.
  • Responsible for coordinating sessions of USA Wrestling’s Coaches Education, i.e.: copper and bronze certification.
  • Attend Wisconsin Wrestling Federation events, including board and committee meetings.


Key points of interaction for this position include:

  • Required to submit monthly reports of all actions, expenditures and accomplishments.
  • Must be reasonably accessibility and available during normal working hours.


Position Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience with Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Folkstyle wrestling
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and manage a budget
  • Good computer skills.
  • Must be punctual and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Familiar with USA Wrestling and its programs and opportunities.
  • Familiar with Wisconsin Wrestling Federation programs, membership and opportunities
