  2. WWF Website Overview, Gabby Lord-Klein

    • Find specific athlete information on respective tabs

    • Is the calendar showing up blank? Here are the steps to remedy:

      • Navigate to the bottom right of your device.

      • Select “Show Tag Menu”

      • Select “All Tags” and “Match Any”

      • You may then select, “Hide Tag Menu”

  3. WWF Social Media, Gabby Lord-Klein

  4. 2022 Kids Folkstyle State Qualifier Information, Todd Schaaf

    • March 18th - 19th, 2022. Select here, for the web page and flyer.

    • Biggest change from 2021: The top three place winners at each weight and age group will qualify for kids state.

    • Coaches are required to have a USAW Leader Card to coach at the qualifiers–this process includes a background check and required safesport training. At this time there is no NCEP Copper Certification requirement for the qualifier, but it will be required for the state tournament.

    • Wrestlers must weigh-in at the satellite site attached to the qualifier you wrestle.

    • WIAA rules for wrestling will be used.

    • Any female that wrestles at USAW Folkstyle Nationals will be allowed to wrestle at our Kids Folkstyle State Championships. However, they must wrestle at or above the weight they weighed in at for Folkstyle Nationals.

    • The preferred undergarment for females wearing a boy-cut singlet is a sleeveless compression shirt.

  5. 2022 Kids Folkstyle State Championships Information, Todd Schaaf

    • March 24-26th, 2022. Select here, for the web page and flyer.

    • The Kids Folkstyle State is returning to the Alliant Energy Center in Madison

    • The mask mandate in Dane County is expected to expire on March 1st. Regardless of the mask requirements at the time of the event, we have assurances that wrestlers will not be required to wear masks while wrestling.

    • Coaches are required to have a USAW Leader Card and minimum of a NCEP Copper Certification. Please note that background checks can take up to 7 days.

    • The 8 district champions will receive a bye in the first round. All wrestlers are guaranteed two matches.

  6. Closing Remarks, Scott Kluever

    • March preview: The March meetup via zoom will highlight information on the 2022 Training Team, and then turn into a Q&A session featuring several parents of current and former wrestlers that have come through the WWF program.

    • FAQ: Can we put clubs with women’s practices online?

      • We will work on making this happen, but there is no clear identifier in the system that shows what clubs have girls-only opportunities. I recommend using the USA Wrestling Club Finder and contacting clubs in your area directly. Most clubs are very welcoming for girls into their standard practices with the boys even if they don’t provide all-girl opportunities.

P.S. Training Team registration is open!
