NATIONAL DUALS—Team Wisconsin is back at it this week at the Junior National Duals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Junior Greco-Roman and Women’s Freestyle teams are competing first.

The Greco team opened the day with back-to-back wins over Minnesota Silver (W50-16) and Utah (W41-31) in Pool C. They fell in the finals match to California, L44-17, but their 2nd place finish advanced them to the Gold/Silver pool and locked in a guaranteed top-eight finish. The bracket is still being finalized and will begin tomorrow morning. [Day 1 Greco Results]

In women’s freestyle, Wisconsin can place as high as 9th after a 4-1 performance on day one. The team started in Pool A with a victory over Texas Red, W34-31. The ladies were piecing together a comeback versus Indiana in the semifinals but couldn't secure enough points to close the gap and ended up dropping the match L36-33. They went on to defeat Georgia Blue W45-22, and Texas Red again W34-21 to place third and advance to the Bronze/Copper pool. Wisconsin won their opening match in a battle with Oklahoma, W33-29, and will wrestle Kansas in the morning. [Day 1 Women’s Freestyle Results]
