Fargo Information
The 16U and Junior National Championships are quickly approaching. In total, Team Wisconsin will bring more than 200 athletes through the Fargo camps and competition. Select here for Wisconsin’s preliminary rosters. Below are several highlights from the call that Scott and Laura shared concerning camp and competition. Complete schedules with key notes and items to pack are available in TeamSnap and posted online at these links: 16U FS | 16U GR | JR FS | JR GR | 16U WFS | JR WFS

  • Everyone must have a headshot uploaded in their USA Wrestling profile before July 1st. Please check your profile in the USA Wrestling membership system to make sure this is done. All individuals without an approved profile picture who are entered into our state delegation for Fargo began receiving daily automated e-mails from our membership system letting them know a photo is required. This e-mail includes guidelines for proper headshots and also includes a link to the tutorial video on how one is able to upload their picture, here.
  • Wrestlers need to arrive at camp in River Falls with their weight under control, in shape and ready to perform. Camps will be tactical and technical in nature.
  • Camp practices will be at St. Bridget’s in River Falls for the men’s programs, and at Victory School of Wrestling for the women. All athletes will walk to practices from the hotel. Both teams have a grocery store within walking distance (Aldi and Family Fresh).
  • There will be scales available to athletes but you can choose to bring your own.
  • Plan for a minimum of 5-6 sets of workout clothes if wrestling just one style. If wrestling more than one style, plan accordingly with a minimum of 6 sets.
  • Many athletes have found success with meal prepping during camps and competition. We recommend that athletes bring a small cooler. There is continental breakfast at the hotels.
  • Do not overpack. All teams will have four athletes to a room. There will be laundry facilities at the hotel, so plan to bring detergent pods and even wipes for between practices.
  • Bring a cell phone and charger. Coaches communicate via text services regarding transportation, meeting locations, etc.
  • Bring a water bottle, and zip lock bags are helpful.
  • All athletes will ride the bus to Fargo. Athletes wrestling both styles will stay in Fargo and should plan accordingly with workout great. Parents may choose to bring their kids home from Fargo, but all athletes need to be signed out and a coach must be notified that the athlete is leaving.
  • Once in Fargo, athletes are not allowed to leave their hotels to get food—parents can bring athletes food to the hotel, or athletes can order food for delivery after weigh-ins.
  • Coaches will perform bed checks every day of camp and competition.
  • Scott Kluever and Randy Ferrell are there to meet athletes’ needs (hospitals in the case of injuries, prescriptions, etc. are all taken care of by these leaders.)
  • If you don’t have a new set of singlets for 2022 athletes will borrow singlets from the WWF that need to be returned after the competition.
