Team Wisconsin is fresh off an impressive performance at the 2024 USMC Junior and 16U National Championships with 30 wrestlers earning All-American status! Taylor Whiting and Brooke Huffman brought home national titles, and Brynn Engel, Hunter Stevens, Makhi Rodgers, and Brett Back placed second in the national event. The team achieved top-10 placements in three divisions and six received distinguished awards.

Statement from State Chairperson Todd Schaaf
I want to express my congratulations to all of the athletes that competed in Fargo. Competing on the national stage and earning All-American status is such a great achievement and a testament to your hard work. I am immensely proud of the dedication shown not only by the WWF but also our entire coaching staff and the countless volunteers working behind the scenes. Seeing Wisconsin's impact at this event and the national respect for our award winners fills me with gratitude for being part of such a fantastic organization within the wrestling community.

A special congratulations to our award recipients: Neysa Bianchi, Women’s Freestyle Developmental Coach of the Year; Ben Askren, Men’s Freestyle Developmental Coach of the Year; Scott Kluever, USAW Chuck Elvin Junior Person of the Year; Jeff Jones, Alice Riggle Award for Operations Official of the Year; Maddie Ruckdashel, Tuska Adam's Outstanding Official of the Women’s Tournament; and Kayla Spurley, Lifetime Achievement Award.

Wisconsin is the go-to for getting things done, and I look forward to finishing the 2023-24 season strong while continuing to fulfill the WWF mission with the support of our dedicated team in all areas of the sport.

Payton Jacobson will compete at the Olympic Games next week in Paris! Wrestling will be contested August 5th-11th, and the 87kg weight class for Greco-Roman will be contested August 7th and 8th. Also in Paris is Casey Goessl, who was selected by United World Wrestling as a referee for the Olympic Games. Be sure to follow along on USA Wrestling for more updates!

Rounding out Team USA representatives this month, Colton Weiler is set to compete at the U17 World Championships in Amman Jordan, August 19th-25th. Weiler won the U17 World Team Trials at the US Open in Las Vegas back in April.
