Omaha, Neb. — Four wrestlers from Wisconsin will represent Team USA at the 2024 Senior World Championships after an exciting weekend of competition at the team trials!

Benji Peak will return to the World stage at 72kg in Greco-Roman. He won the challenge tournament and then automatically took the best of three series with RaVaughn Perkins not weighing in. Peak competed at senior worlds in 2022.

Brady Koontz swept two straight finals series matches by tech over Ken Crosby to clinch a return trip to senior Worlds at 55kg. The back-to-back- Greco World team member is also part of the WWF national team staff and will lead gut wrench technique at this weekend’s women’s freestyle camp in Madison.

In women’s freestyle, Macey Kilty and Kylie Welker were dominant this weekend and both wrestlers earned a place on their second senior world team. Kilty accepted her berth to the best of three finals series after winning a silver medal at senior worlds last fall. In the series this weekend, she took out Aine Drury by tech in two straight matches. Welker stunned familiar opponent Yelena Makoyed in match 1 of the finals series by fall and then won 5-2 in the second match. The Iowa Hawkeye teammates will compete at 65 and 72kg, respectively.

Look forward to watching these wrestlers at the Senior World Championships October 28-31! Only the 12 World Championship weight classes that were not contested at the 2024 Olympic Games will be contested in Tirana, Albania.
