March Highlights & Key Dates: State Series, Camps & More

Congratulations to all the wrestlers who competed at the WIAA Individual State Championships! What an incredible weekend of competition—it’s always inspiring to see the hard work, dedication, and passion on full display at the Kohl Center.

In March, we shift gears into a focus on the spring season, the 2025 State Tournament Series, and upcoming camps designed to set the stage for a strong season with Wisconsin’s National teams. Read on for those details and more.

Join Us: Informational Zoom Calls
Join us this week! The WWF Informational Zoom Call series kicks off on March 5th with a session on the Kids State Qualifiers, State Championships, and an overview of USA Bracketing with Dave Matthews of USA Wrestling. Each session will be at 7PM on the dates below. Can't make it live? No worries—calls will be recorded, and a recap will be available afterward.

Quick Info: Kids Folkstyle State Qualifiers and Championships
The top three wrestlers in each age group and division at the Kids Folkstyle State Qualifiers (March 22nd) qualify to compete at the WWF Kids Folkstyle State Championships at the Alliant Energy Center March 28-30th. Kids can wrestle at any of the eight qualifier locations. All qualifiers will use the new USA Bracketing system; Kids state will use Trackwrestling.

Coaching Credentials: Need-To-Know Guide
Planning to coach matside at the 2025 WWF State Series? Make sure you've got the right credentials! Click here to view the guide we made for this season. Quick hitters:

  • Kids Folkstyle State Qualifiers: A current USA Wrestling Leaders membership is required to be matside at the WWF Kids State Qualifiers on March 22nd— this includes parents, club coaches, etc. Please allow 7-10 business days for the background check process, as USA Wrestling Leaders Memberships will not be available on-site.
  • Kids Folkstyle State: A current USA Wrestling Leaders membership and a Copper Coaches Certification or higher is required to be matside at the Kids State Championships— this includes parents, club coaches, etc. Please allow 7-10 business days for the background check process, as USA Wrestling Leaders Memberships will not be available on-site.
  • NOW AVAILABLE: Coaches passes (required) for state are available for purchase (click here) in the USAW Membership System now through March 25th for $20. Coaches must have a profile photo uploaded and approved by USA Wrestling to their USAW profile for the printed pass. If a coach misses the Tuesday deadline, they may continue to purchase a coaches pass until Thursday midnight for $50. If purchasing onsite, coaches may be delayed getting matside until the pass has been processed and approved by USA Wrestling. Passes are good for all sessions.

Upcoming Camps
The WWF has two active camp series for our 14U, 16U and Junior athletes in WI!

  • Greco-Roman: Registration is live for the Greco-Roman training camp series! Camps will be held on March 16th (Crass Trained in Loyal), April 13th (X-Factor Elite at Green Bay Preble HS & Combat WC), and May 31st (at Ringers & LAW). Click here to register.
  • Women’s Freestyle: There are two more camps in this series coming up March 29th (AWA North Shore) and April 19th (Aviators). Click here to register.

Hosting an event? Sanction it directly in the membership system or submit a completed application form to Sandy Russell. After that, send us your flyer, and we’ll post it online!
