It’s Fargo time! Thank you to everyone who joined the informational Zoom calls on Wednesday evening. Scott Kluever and Neysa Bianchi covered Fargo details, including reporting to camps in River Falls, wrestle-offs, hotels, travel, tips, FAQs, etc. We have so much to look forward to again this year. Highlighted notes and a link to the full replay are posted below.

Recruiting Profiles
As part of our state program, we offer an opportunity for our athletes to create a recruiting profile that will be made available to the many college coaches who attend the Junior & 16U National Championships for freestyle and Greco!

  • Email a PDF to wiwrestlingfed@gmail.com
  • Deadline is Wednesday, July 9
  • Check out 2024 examples
  • All juniors and second-year 16U athletes are encouraged to submit a recruiting profile.
  • Tip: make a free Canva account and search templates for “resumes” to easily customize your profile, or use Google docs or Word, and then export/save as a PDF before sending.

Pre-Fargo and Camp

  • Update your USA Wrestling photo. Everyone must have an updated headshot in their USA Wrestling profile. Go to the membership website and click on “profile” to see if you have an uploaded photo. Watch the tutorial video on how to upload your photo here.
  • WFS: All athletes will report to the hotel for check-in on Wednesday, July 9. Location and camp details are outlined in TeamSnap. Practices will be separated by age group.
  • MFS + GR: ALL non-auto qualifiers must report for wrestle-offs on July 11, within 5lbs of their weight class, regardless of how many athletes are in their respective weight classes. Only the Fargo staff and officials will be allowed at wrestle-offs. Athletes who do not make the team will have their Fargo registration reimbursed. Time and location details are in TeamSnap.
  • MFS and GR: Auto-qualified athletes report to the hotel during regular check-in. Time and location details are outlined in TeamSnap.
  • Athletes are encouraged to meal prep and bring a small cooler (the fridges are small). There is a continental breakfast and a grocery store located within walking distance of all hotels.
  • All camp practices are focused on technical and tactical fine-tuning as athletes taper for competition. Please do not plan to use them as a primary tool for weight management.
  • Please bring gear for 4 practices. Laundry facilities will be available—bring coins and detergent. Please bring a phone + charger.
  • Please check the list of registered athletes to ensure you/your athlete is listed correctly.

Fargo

  • Athletes will stay with the team throughout the duration of competition.
  • NEW: There will be a minimum of 1 food truck in the hotel parking lot each day!
  • 16U and Juniors will wrestle on the same days, in different sessions, in ALL styles. WFS July 12-13, MFS July 14-16, GR July 18-19. There is no competition on Thursday. The complete event schedule is posted here.
  • MFS is the only style to weigh in twice. Wrestlers will weigh in Sunday at scratch weight, and again on Wednesday morning with a +2lb weight allowance. There is no weight allowance for athletes also competing in Greco.
  • Athletes will travel as a team back to River Falls at the conclusion of each championship finals and will spend the night in River Falls. Parent pick up will be the following morning. Athletes that drive themselves to camp will check in their keys to the coaching staff at the pre-Fargo camps, and will not be allowed to use their vehicles during camp; they will be required to spend the night in River Falls upon return for safety.
  • Eliminated athletes may choose to leave with their parents before the conclusion of their respective events, but they must sign out with the designated check-out coach. This sign-out applies to ALL athletes. If an athlete wants to leave with another parent/guardian, written permission needs to be submitted before the competition—please talk to Scott/the assigned chaperone before competition.
  • Athletes competing in both freestyle and Greco-Roman will stay in Fargo during the “off” day.
  • Athletes are encouraged to meal prep for camp and competition. Athletes are not allowed to leave for dinner with their parents after weigh-ins. Parents may bring athletes' food to their hotel, they can order food, or get food with the coaches as a group. There is a grocery store. Large coolers + inflatables are not allowed in the FargoDome.
  • Fargo is nearly cashless—athletes are encouraged to have a debit card. Athletes are advised not to bring material items into the FargoDome.
  • Schedule details are posted for all styles and age groups in TeamSnap! If the schedule says TBD, be sure to select the specific age group and style to get the information.
  • Singlets: The approved Fargo singlets are the red and blue singlets purchased from the spring gear store in 2024/2025. Wrestlers who did not purchase the new singlets may use a generic reversible singlet offered by the WWF coaching staff.
