→ 2025 Annual Meeting Minutes
The Wisconsin Wrestling Federation (WWF) held its Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 19, at The Lodge at Mauston. Board members and staff reviewed highlights from the 2024–25 season and shared key updates, including dates and information for the 2026 State Series and National and Regional events hosted in Wisconsin. The proposed budget received unanimous approval. Members can read through the 2024–25 Annual Report here.
The following individuals were re-elected to serve as At-Large Directors for another two-year term: Newton Smerchek, Ernie Millard, Preston Breunig and Eric Lehrke.

Key Changes & Notes
- Kids Folkstyle State Championships: WWF will follow the Alliant Energy Center’s carry-in policy. Metal detectors will be in use at all arena entrances to help ensure a safe and secure event for everyone.
- Freestyle State Championships: Girls will weigh in and wrestle on Friday evening on May 1.
- Kids Team State will be in Wisconsin Dells for the next four years (2026-29).
- Fargo: Pre-Fargo camps will be at UW-Eau Claire for men’s freestyle and Greco. Men’s Freestyle and Greco wrestle-offs will be at a date determined prior to camp.
- Fargo: The Fargo schedule has been changed. MFS will compete first—Friday to Sunday, GR Tuesday to Wednesday, and WFS from Thursday to Saturday. MFS + WFS will weigh in twice. There will be new singlets in 2026.
- Boys 14U National Duals are in Wesley Chapel, Florida. The team will fly, and there will be camp the day before they travel.
- USA Wrestling’s TOA Dominate in the Dells is now called the Badger Brawl, and will be hosted in La Crosse.
- Added eligibility rule: Eligibility at Freestyle & Greco State Championships, USA Wrestling Regional and National Championships (excluding National Duals): At the WWF Freestyle & Greco State Championships, USA Wrestling regional and national championships (excluding National Duals), one shall be deemed ineligible if he/she has represented another country (as recognized by the international federation) at continental and/or World Championships. If an individual has represented another country but has since changed his/her sporting nationality to the US with the international federation, the individual shall be eligible for USA Wrestling regional and national championships. Any athlete who represented another nation before 8/31/2025 shall be exempt.
Training Opportunities
- Women’s Freestyle (now-spring): 2025-26 features monthly camps designed to bring wrestlers together, sharpen skills, and build on the growing team mentality so when it’s time to head out to Indiana and Fargo next summer, we’re more prepared than ever. Register here.
- Greco-Roman (spring): Three training camps will be hosted by national team coaches in the spring—dates and locations coming soon.
- Men’s Freestyle (spring): The WWF will partner with the hosts of local tournaments to provide clinics with national team coaches before the tournament in the spring—dates and locations coming soon.
