The local youth folkstyle season kicks into high gear this month and continues through the WWF Kids Folkstyle State Championships in March! With that, the schedule of sanctioned events for December is listed below. Looking forward, keep USA Wrestling’s Kids Folkstyle Nationals on your radar as it returns to Fort Wayne in January, and save the date for the next women’s freestyle camp on Dec 14.

Women’s Freestyle Camp Series
The women’s freestyle camp at UW-Stevens Point saw an awesome turnout last month! This series continues to be a strong touchpoint with our National Team, helping athletes stay connected and sharp through the off-season and folkstyle months. One thing we hear again and again from top athletes and coaches: freestyle makes you a better wrestler in every style. The series continues on December 14 at AWA Wausau!

Athlete and Leaders Membership Renewals
With youth season ramping up, don’t forget to renew your membership using the USAW membership system! Wrestlers will need a card to compete in sanctioned events, and coaches will need a minimum of a leader card to coach matside at the state series. Please note that SafeSport training, refresher course and/or background check during the renewal process may be required. We recommend doing this immediately to ensure you are ready to go!

High School Team Memberships
It’s not too late to purchase a team membership for your high school. USA Wrestling offers an annual opportunity for high school teams to purchase memberships for their entire team for $525. Teams will receive an unlimited number of athlete memberships for the season and an official USA Wrestling Club Charter among other benefits. Learn more here.
