Wisconsin has a strong group of wrestlers competing at U23 Nationals and U20 World Team Trials in Ohio this weekend! → view the list in PDF form.

U20 US Open Champions Brett Back (GR), Aeoden Sinclair (FS) and Connor Mirasola (FS) all won the US Open and will sit out of the challenge tournament. They will face the champions of the challenge tournament in the best-of-three finals series.

The three-day event in Geneva will determine the U20 World Teams in freestyle and Greco—all U20 entries had to be pre-qualified.

Four more nationally ranked wrestlers are entered in the U20 freestyle field: #3 Haakon Peterson (57kg), #4 Charlie Millard (74kg), #3 Cole Mirasola (79kg) and #5 Koy Hopke (125kg)—all of whom are slated to compete on the junior national dual team later this month. WI Fargo champs Noah Mulvaney and Max Ramberg will compete at 79kg and 97kg, with Ramberg competing in both freestyle and Greco.

Greco entries for the U20 division include past WWF All-Americans Rhett Koenig, Amryn Nutter, Gunnar Hamre and TJ Schierl. Koenig was runner-up at U20 trials last season. Greco competition will run from start to finish on Friday.

U23 Nationals is part of the team selection criteria for the U23 World Team, plus, the champions at each weight will get to represent USA at the U23 Pan Ams. None of the U23 entries sit into a best-of-three series.
