WWCA Convention
The 2023 Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association Fall Convention is this Friday and Saturday in Green Bay! Todd Schaaf and Scott Kluever will lead one of the scheduled breakout sessions on the topic of “Opportunities for All Ability Levels.” Women’s Director Neysa Bianchi will lead a session for the WWF women’s freestyle program titled: "Opportunities for Women in Wrestling." Bianchi will also present as part of the Girls Wrestling Advisory Group. WFS Camp Series
Join us this Sunday (Nov. 5th) at UW-Stevens Point for camp! Our women’s freestyle series is off to a great start and we are looking to grow! There are two wrestling sessions, and Pointers Head Coach Jake Wozniak will lead a group discussion: “Creating your profile for college coaches.” This camp falls the day after the Pointer Open, which is a great opportunity to watch WFS at the collegiate level here in Wisconsin. These camps are open to all Wisconsin 14U, 16U, and Junior women with a USA Wrestling athlete membership. Select here for more information about the WFS program, and select here to register today!

Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting of Members was held in Mauston on October 15th. Members of the WWF board and staff presented 2023-24 tournament information and season highlights, and Todd Schaaf presented the proposed budget, which was approved by unanimous vote. The following individuals were voted into At-Large director positions and will serve in their elected positions for a two-year term: Eric Lehrke, Ernie Millard, Preston Breunig, and Newton Smerchek. Minutes from the annual meeting are posted online here. Detailed WWF event and team information for the 2024 season will be shared online as it becomes available.

WI x Team USA Highlights
Good luck to Kylie Welker, who will represent Team USA at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile! Welker competes in the 76kg weight class with qualification rounds beginning Friday, Nov. 3rd. Read more here.

Keegan O’Toole added a U23 world title to his resume in Tirana, Albania! He went 5-0 and helped the men’s freestyle team to a first-place finish overall. Also representing the United States were Alisha Howk and Macey Kilty in women’s freestyle and Payton Jacobson in Greco-Roman.

As always, Wisconsin wrestlers are training and competing across the state at various offseason and preseason events. We see your hard work! As we move into the start of the WIAA high school season this month we are wishing all of our members the best of luck.
