Freestyle and Greco State Reminders (May 6th-7th in Wisconsin Dells)

• Visit the tournamant page online here. Pre-registration closes Thursday May 4th at noon.
• Club affiliations: All registrations will be done through the USA Wrestling membership system. Athletes without a club affiliation in their member profile, either because they don’t have a club or because the club hasn’t accepted them into their team profile, will default to “Wisconsin” as the club affiliation. Athletes can write their club name next to “Wisconsin” on their weigh in card and we will update it for the event.
• Coaches must buy a pass online through the USAW Membership system by noon of Thursday May 4th. The cost is $15 and the pass is good for all sessions. Late passes may be purchased through the membership system for $30, and the credential will be printed onsite. All coaches must have a photo uploaded in their USAW membership profile for the printed credential.
• If an athlete has a conflict with weigh ins due to another spring sport they must email Jeff Jones at jeffjones@att.net.

Qualifying Opportunities from Spring Events
The upcoming spring events—namely FS & GR State, Northern Plains, and the US Open events/World Team Trials—are part of the National Duals and Fargo team selection process.

• Freestyle and Greco State, May 6-7 in Wisconsin Dells
  • Determines the MFS and GR 14U and 16U National Dual Teams.
  • The top 3 place winners in MFS, WFS and GR earn a spot on the Fargo national team in the same weight and style.
  • Performance impacts your overall performance index rating, which will be used to determine the Wisconsin boys junior freestyle and Greco National Duals roster.
• Northern Plains Regional Championships, May 13-14 in Wisconsin Dells
  • Is a USAW event hosted right here in Wisconsin. In addition to great competition this event serves as an auto-qualifier opportunity for Fargo.
  • The top 6 age-eligible 16U and junior placewinners in men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco auto-qualify for the Fargo national team. Auto-qualifiers do not count against our total state numbers, and may compete in the weight class of their choice at Fargo.
  • Performance impacts your overall performance index rating, which will be used to determine the Wisconsin boys junior freestyle and Greco National Duals roster.
• U.S. Open Events and World Team Trials
  • Serves as the World and Pan Am Team Trials for the U17 and U20 MFS and GR divisions.
  • The top 8 age-eligible place winners at U15, U17 and U20 World Team Trials auto qualify for the Fargo national team. Auto-qualifiers do not count against our total state numbers, and may compete in the weight class of their choice at Fargo.
  • The U23 men and Senior MFS, WFS and GR divisions are part of the U.S. team selection process.

National Duals
Athletes interested in competing on the Wisconsin National Dual Team will complete an interest form after the Wisconsin Freestyle and Greco State Championships. The deadline to submit interest is May 15th, and all teams will be determined by May 21st. Fargo Overview
Fargo regisration will be open May 8th-June 23rd via TeamSnap. Please visit the athlete pages online for a complete summary of team selection, dates and cost. We will share a list of athletes that have auto-qualified as registration opens, and will cover Fargo-specific details in our May member meeting.

Gear Store
The gear store will reopen for orders May 1st - 15th. Athletes on the Fargo team are responsible for purchasing a minimum red and blue singlets. Wrestlers on the National Team that do not wish to purchase a set of singlets may use a generic reversible singlet offered by the WWF coaching staff. Athletes who purchased a uniform package in 2022 DO NOT need to purchase another gear package. The singlets are the same for 2023.
