May begins with back-to-back weekends of wrestling in Wisconsin Dells. The WWF Freestyle and Greco State Championships are this coming weekend, followed by USA Wrestling’s Northern Plains Regional Championships. By the end of May, the final rosters for National Duals will be established, and we’ll know most of the athletes qualified for Fargo. Highlights for the month are below.

Freestyle and Greco State
The
WWF Freestyle and Greco State Championships will be May 6th-7th in Wisconsin Dells. Pre-registration closes Thursday, May 4th at noon. Visit the tournament page online here for complete details.

  • Coaches must buy a pass online through the USAW Membership system by noon on Thursday, May 4th. The cost is $15 and the pass is good for all sessions. Late passes are still purchased through the membership system for $30, and the credential will be printed onsite. All coaches must have a photo uploaded to their USAW membership profile for the printed credential.
  • USAW cards are required and registration must be completed online through the USAW membership system prior to weigh-ins. If you cannot put in your current team while registering we will have a sheet at weight-ins and we will change/add your team prior to bracketing.
  • If anyone has a conflict with weigh-ins Friday night please email jeffjones99@att.net for your options. Satellite weigh-ins: Wisconsin Dells at the dome, Merrill, Kaukauna, Baldwin-Woodville, Mukwonago, and Mineral Point High Schools, and LAW club facility.
  • Girls that wish to compete in Greco-Roman will register at the head table during the freestyle competition on Saturday.
  • Details on placing to make the National Dual teams/Fargo is outlined here.

National Events

WFS Training Team Camps
We have our final training team camp for 14U, 16U and Junior age group wrestlers at the Talon Training Center in Mauston on May 7th. These camps are open to all female wrestlers in Wisconsin with a USA Wrestling card.
Select here to register. The cost is $25 per athlete.

Gear Store
The Team Wisconsin Gear Store is open now through May 15th. Athletes on the Fargo team are responsible for purchasing a minimum red and blue singlet. Wrestlers on the National Team that do not wish to purchase a set of singlets may use a generic reversible singlet offered by the WWF coaching staff. Athletes who purchased a uniform package in 2022 DO NOT need to purchase another gear package. The singlets are the same for 2023.

  • Order screen-printed gear here.
  • Order sublimated singlets, shorts, and backpacks here.

Monthly Meeting
Join us on May 17th for our monthly membership meeting. The WWF hosts this series for our members during the spring to share relevant information about opportunities, Team Wisconsin, and more. An agenda for May will be released prior to the meeting. Notes and the video replay for April are posted
here.

Table Workers Needed
We are in need of table workers for USA Wrestling's Northern Plains Regional Championships on May 13th-14th at the Woodside Wisconsin Dells Center Dome in Wisconsin Dells. The pay per table is $100 for Saturday and $75 for Sunday. Please email Jeff at jeffjones99@att.net if interested.
