Thank you to everyone that joined our first membership meeting of the season! With this series we hope to share relevant information about WWF opportunities, Team Wisconsin and more. We will continue to add value and clarity while facilitating an environment where our members can ask questions and be more involved with the process as we move through the 2023 season.

This month we covered website updates, and details regarding the Kids State Qualifiers and Kids State Championships. Notes from the call are listed below.

WWF Website Updated with 2023 Information, Gabby Lord-Klein

  • The website has been updated with information for the 2023 season. This includes dates, qualifying procedures and cost information for the dual teams and Fargo on each of the respective athlete pages, with the exception of the junior boys national dual team. Scott Kluever will release that information soon.
  • The WFS tab has the most new detailed information. With the major growth of girls wrestling in Wisconsin, we have athletes, coaches and parents actively seeking information on where to start. Please visit the WFS page, read through the new Fargo qualification process, learn how to make the National Dual team and check out our list of primary events during the 2023 season.
  • NEW OPPORTUNITY for 16U and JR WFS: Team Iowa x Team Wisconsin Training Camp at Simpson College, March 18th-19th. The goal of this two-day camp is to bring the best from Iowa and Wisconsin together with a balance of technical development and hard wrestling. This is an amazing opportunity to sharpen up for freestyle events coming up in April and May. Athletes are responsible for their own travel, housing, and food arrangements. Register and learn more here.
  • Our monthly and mid-month communications are sent through USA Wrestling. If you are not receiving emails please confirm the right address is listed in your active USAW member profile.
  • The WWF is looking for table workers for USA Wrestling's Dominate in the Dells March 11th and 12th at the Woodside Wisconsin Dells Center Dome in Wisconsin Dells. The pay per table is $125 for Saturday and $75 for Sunday. Table workers will be scoring on a mat side computer during the matches. If interested please email jeffjones99@att.net.
